On August 24, 2018, Carroll County Public Schools hosted it 2nd Annual Culture EXPO at Winter Mills High School.  The attendance increased in size since last year. Participants were welcomed to the event by the sounds of a drum circle and enjoyed a day of entertainment, enlightenment and appreciation. The Nazu African Drum and Dance Company along with the Ewabo Calypso Band entertained the guests throughout the day and participants were able to visit many exhibitors and vendors that represented our many local agencies, school clubs and organizations and local businesses. Culture Chats created a platform for courageous conversations and included a variety of topics from The Day in the Life of Immigrant families, Creating Student Advocacy groups, becoming an Equity Advocate and How to Build Relationships with Students of Color.

The Culture EXPO is a kick-off to celebrate the many cultures of Carroll County and an event that is now something the school system and community looks forward to experiencing at the end of the summer.
