Education is one of the most crucial parts of our county and prioritizing student concerns is an integral part of our education system. We aim to initiate dialogue regardless of differences to learn more about the candidates running for the Board of Education. Therefore, we invite you to ask questions and raise concerns that affect the education of CCPS students. All community members, students, parents, and educators are welcome to attend the Meet the Candidates Forum on May 22nd. We look forward to seeing you there!

Join us for an author talk with Michael Almond about his new work The Tannery. The Tannery transports readers to the turbulent world of the post-Reconstruction South. Reflecting on issues prominent in today's headlines, themes of Black voter suppression and intimidation, the violence and depravity of vigilante "justice," and the rise of Jim Crow drive the narrative to its dramatic and surprising conclusion.

Join us for a monthly book discussion focusing on a diverse author's work. Each month we will select a young adult or adult title written by an author from a diverse background so we can learn from others' perspectives. Our November selection is This is How it Always Is by Laurie Frankel. Attendees are welcome to attend in person at CCPL's Westminster Branch or virtually through Zoom.

Join Maryland Humanities and our co-host, Carroll County Public Library, for this free virtual event with Ross Gay, author of “The Book of Delights: Essays.” He will read from his book—the 2021 One Maryland One Book selection—and answer questions. Mr. Gay will be in conversation with Ted Zaleski, Director of Management and Budget for Carroll County Government.
